A small studio built around purpose, precision + impact

Hi, I’m Charlotte, the designer behind Crunchy Pixel and for nearly 20 years I’ve helped founders, startups and marketing teams build and grow their brands.

My Story + Philosophy

My design foundations

I graduated with a First-Class Honours degree in Product Design from Brunel University, where I focused on digital design, graphic communication and sustainable design. My work was recognised with a Design Plus BDI Award for innovation. I also hold a Master CIW qualification in web development, which gives me a strong technical foundation alongside my creative skills.

Where my career began

I started out in the built environment, creating winning proposals for brands like Red Bull, QVC and Candy & Candy. Since then, I’ve worked across sectors such as healthtech, edtech and SaaS, developing brand systems and digital experiences for teams across the UK, Europe and the US. I established Crunchy Pixel in 2010, with a two-year detour running a marketing agency which gave me a deeper understanding of strategy and messaging.

How I approach design

After nearly two decades in design and marketing, one thing has become clear: strong brands aren’t based on guesswork. They’re built on strategy. A clear message, a clear visual identity and a consistent experience across every touchpoint. This is why I focus on design with purpose. Whether it’s a brand identity, a website or a set of everyday templates, the goal is always the same: to help brands look credible and be consistent so they can grow.

How I work today

Crunchy Pixel is intentionally small so your project gets real focus, speed and care. You work directly with me and if your project needs extra skills like copywriting, marketing or photography, I can bring in specialist support from my network and look after the whole process. You get exactly what you need, with one person guiding everything from start to finish.

How I work, from brief to finished design.

Process step 1
01

Get clear

We start by getting everything out of your head and into a solid plan. Goals, audience, must-haves and all the essentials that keep the work focused and on point.

Process step 2
02

Make it real

I design, you review. Simple. You see progress at the right moments, give feedback and we shape things together. No endless loops, just steady forward motion.

Process step 3
03

Wrap + launch

Once everything is approved, I bring it all together and get you set for rollout. Clean, finalised and ready to use, not something that ends up forgotten in a folder.

Sector experience

I mostly work with B2B teams in tech, SaaS, professional services and marketing. I’ve supported clients across the UK, Europe and the US, from early-stage founders to established marketing teams.

Behind the Scenes

Here’s the part of the page where things get a little more human. When I’m not designing brands and websites for clients, I’m usually knee-deep in one of these side quests:

Running Etsy shops

I currently run two Etsy shops. One is full of bold, cheeky greeting cards. The other is entirely dedicated to guinea pigs because someone had to do it. Both keep my illustration muscles moving and give me a fun creative outlet outside client work.

House building in Scotland

My partner and I recently bought land in Scotland and we’re in the early planning stages. No spade in the ground just yet, but I’m documenting the process as we go. It’s exciting, chaotic and spreadsheet heavy.

Guinea pigs

Guinea pigs are a bit of a theme in my life. As well as designing guinea pig-themed products, I also work with The Guinea Pig Magazine to help promote proper care for these little potatoes. It’s a wholesome corner of the design world that I absolutely love.
