New Cricket Brand

Client: Middlesex Cricket Club (MCC)
Project: Logo design and Brand Guidelines
Timeline: 2 months

TMGA is a cricket tours company, created by two existing companies; MCC and SRT Management (a sports management company owned by the famous Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar).

The original brief was for the company to be called ‘Global Cricket Cities’, and they wanted to include a silhouette of Tendulkar within the logo whilst also merging in any elements from the MCC logo. Colours needed to be a combination of the MCC logo and India’s colours to link in with Tendulkar’s heritage.

However, during development, the client decided to change the name to Tendulkar Middlesex Global Academy (TMGA). They also wanted the logo to take inspiration from the Olympic circles along with the use of these colours.

The final logo took the swoop from the MCC logo and this was repeated so that there were a total of 3 swoops, each of which represented a brand value (equality, performance and trust). The multiple swoops also imitated the Olympic circles. The logo also used a silhouette of Tendulkar.

Once the final logo had been chosen a set of brand guidelines was developed to ensure consistent use of the logo, colours and fonts.
