cigarette advertising
Omega, a leading Georgian cigarette manufacturing company wanted to produce numerous assets to help promote one of their cigarette brands.
The Project
Within this project a suite of billboards, magazine adverts, posters and banners were designed. The client wanted an American feel to the advertising and had tried to incorporate this into the design of the packaging, supplied to me at the beginning of the project.
Georgian law states that wherever an English word is written, the Georgian translation has to also be included in the same font size. This meant that all English wording featured on the images of the cigarette packaging had to be repeated in Georgian on the billboard. This proved challenging as I had to ensure the design was as uncluttered as possible.
The general design of the advertising had to be reproduced in 12 different sized billboards, 10 different sized posters, as well as various other collateral including:
- magazine adverts
- flyers
- shop display signage
- banners
- T-shirts
Project Timeline
During the concept phase of the promotional assets, numerous rounds of feedback were made. Designs were originally produced in English and at the end of the design process, Georgian script replaced its English counterpart. The whole project from brief, to the delivery of the final files spanned over three months.
Skills
All artwork was produced in Illustrator.
Project Images
The images displayed show an example of two of the final billboards in situ.
